Schafer, Post Sign Pegasus Agreement

Pegasus gate owner Dan Schafer and prominent architect/equestrian Wilbur Post announced today that they have signed an agreement to run Mister Ed in the 2017 Pegasus World Cup.

Schafer reportedly made an offer to Juddmonte for Breeder's Cup Classic winner Arrogate, but when they inked a deal with Coolmore last week he went to Plan B.

Schafer and Post stated financial arrangements would remain confidential and they had no comment at this time, however we were able to reach an excited Mister Ed by phone this afternoon.

“I’m thrilled to be part of this big day,” said the Palomino from his California barn.

“I have the utmost respect for California Chrome and Arrogate and realize they are going to be very tough, but I think we have a decent shot for third with plodders like Keen Ice and that South American runner Mattress Mac dug up in the field.”

Schafer, who made his fortune selling Pizzas in the Detroit area, plans to take the trainer’s test later this week in hopes of saddling the horse himself and saving the 10%, while the mount remains open at this time.
